Accessibility statement

Accessibility statement: Using calculator controls and reporting a barrier.

Calculator inputs are labeled controls, and numerical results are available as text. Worked examples and schedules use tables. These features do not certify that every task works with every combination of browser and assistive technology.

Keyboard and text access

Use Tab to move among controls and type values in numerical fields. The standard calculator announces result changes in a live region. Tables may scroll within their container.

A visual chart supplements the figures rather than replacing their text. Specialized map, currency, scientific and GPA tools have different interaction patterns.

Maps and location

The radius map includes an address-search form as an alternative to choosing a location with a pointer. Map tiles and visual coverage boundaries may remain difficult to interpret without sight. Numerical radius, area and center coordinates describe part of the result, but they do not reproduce every landmark shown on a map.

Report a barrier

Use the contact form and begin the message with “Accessibility.” Include the page address, control or table involved, what you attempted and what happened. Browser and assistive-technology names can help reproduce the issue. Private documents or identifiers are not needed.

Limits of this statement

No full WCAG conformance certification or guaranteed response deadline is asserted here. Automated markup checks do not establish practical usability. External documents and maps have their own accessibility limitations.

Entering and checking values without a pointer

On a standard numerical calculator, move through the labeled fields with Tab and type the number directly. The plus and minus controls are not the only way to enter a value. Read the unit and any field-specific instruction before changing it: a percent field and a decimal ratio can describe the same quantity with different entries.

After changing a value, check the text result rather than relying on a change in bar length or color. The reset control returns the example settings; preserve a needed scenario before resetting. Specialized keypads, course tables and maps have different controls, so an instruction for the standard form should not be assumed to describe every interaction.

Reading a wide result table

A projection table identifies its period, opening balance, contribution or principal, interest or growth, and ending balance. Follow one row across those headings to associate a value with its meaning. A sensitivity table changes the assumption named in its row; a two-input grid changes both its row and column assumptions.

Scroll within a wide table if the final column is outside the current view. Zoom and browser text settings can alter how much fits on screen. The numerical values remain text rather than pixels inside a chart.

A visually adjacent heading alone is not enough when navigating cells, so report any cell whose context is unclear.

Charts and geographical boundaries

A bar chart is a visual comparison, while the accompanying figures provide the amounts and units. Color should not be the only way to identify a selected scenario. On the radius map, a distance, center coordinate and area describe a circle mathematically; they cannot describe every road, building or obstruction pictured underneath it.

If the graphical boundary cannot be interpreted with your setup, include that limitation in the report. A numeric circle is not a driving-distance or travel-time boundary. Address search can help position the center without selecting it directly on the map.

A useful accessibility report

Name the exact page and the action that failed, such as moving to a field, reading a changed result, opening a comparison or scrolling a schedule. State what the control was announced as, what action you attempted and what happened afterward. If comfortable doing so, name the browser, assistive technology and relevant version.

A reproducible sequence helps distinguish a focus-order problem from an unclear label or a missing result announcement. Do not send financial documents, medical details or credentials as part of that sequence. The contact form offers a reporting route; it does not establish a guaranteed correction deadline or a certification of conformance.
